Streamlining dog trainer education
The Academy for Dog Trainers is a global leader in its field, providing comprehensive, high-quality education for aspiring and established dog trainers. Their dedication to excellence was clear, but their digital infrastructure was starting to show its age. They had a long-standing Moodle LMS, the heart of their online courses, but it was in urgent need of a major upgrade to remain compatible with the latest plugins and integrations.
To compound the issue, their course sales were handled on a completely separate WordPress site. This meant a clunky, two-step process for students, creating friction from the very first interaction. We were approached with a clear mission: unify these two systems, modernise the technology, and create a seamless, elegant user experience.
Our challenge was to take two distinct platforms and make them work as one. The aim was simple: a user should be able to purchase a course on the Academy's website and be automatically enrolled in their Moodle course, all without a second thought.
This would eliminate the manual, administrative burden on staff and provide a far smoother onboarding journey for students. The key was to build a bridge, a robust connection that would allow the WordPress and Moodle sites to communicate effortlessly.

Building a seamless connection
We identified Edwiser Bridge as the ideal solution to this challenge. This powerful plugin was the perfect tool to link the WordPress e-commerce functionality with the Moodle LMS. We upgraded the Academy's Moodle to ensure it was ready for the integration, ensuring compatibility with the latest features. With the foundation in place, we configured Edwiser Bridge to create a complete and automated workflow.
Now, when a user purchases a course on the WordPress site, the payment is processed and their details are instantly and securely passed to Moodle. The system automatically creates a user account for them, if they don't already have one, and enrols them in the correct course.
The successful integration of these two systems has been transformative for the Academy for Dog Trainers. The streamlined workflow has freed up significant administrative resources, allowing staff to dedicate more time to their core mission: developing and delivering world-class educational content.
For students, the new process is simple and intuitive. They can now go from Browse courses to learning new skills in just a few clicks, without any confusing or time-consuming manual steps. We are proud to have helped the Academy modernise their platform, ensuring they can continue to lead the way in professional dog trainer education for years to come.
