2 more ISO certifications added to our collection
Like a bunch of 90’s kids hooked on Pokemon cards, we’ve scored not 1 but 2 more ISO certifications to add to our previous ISO 27001: Information Security Management. And just like Charmander and Bulbasaur, they both have different attributes that are going to make us the best Pokemon trainers / training development company in the land.
Let’s start by looking at ISO 14001: Environmental Management. This is one we’ve banging on about for a while and is the culmination of all our environmental efforts over the last few months, from calculating our carbon footprint, to wading through marshland instead of driving our fossil-fuel-fuelled cars to the office.
The ISO 14001 Environmental Management System is a way of managing the aspects of our business which have a significant impact on the environment. From switching office lighting for desks by the window, to increased remote-working and waste-management policies, these incremental changes all add-up to something greater.
It has really made us look at our procurement, ensuring that the product, services and even cloud storage that we use, is low-impact. This also reassures our customers that they are partnering with an environmentally-friendly business, which improves the credentials of their own supply chain. Win-win!
Undergoing the ISO 14001 assessment has really engaged our team and made us all much more aware of the impact our day-to-day routine has on the environment and highlighted areas where we can do more and be better.
The Environmental Management System is an ongoing and evolving part of our business, meaning that as our business grows and our services change, we will continually be looking at ways to reduce the carbon footprint of the business, with the aim of becoming carbon negative in the next year
The ISO 9001: Quality Management certification is a different beast altogether. It directly addresses the way we conduct business with our customers and ensures we are offering products and services that meet our clients’ needs.
The world standard in quality management, ISO 9001 has made us document everything and anything about the business, and put processes in place to make sure our customers are happy! If for any reason they aren’t, then we also have processes for putting things right again.
As a group of world-class training developers, we’ve always been fairly laid back but with an increasing customer base it was about time we put some world-class procedures in place. From considering factors that may affect the quality of our products, to risks, resources, legislation and logistics, we have stopped one step short of bringing back shirts and ties to the office - that’s how professional we’ve become. But don’t worry - our 80’s and 90’s t-shirts aren’t going anywhere.
